Diplomat: Uranium found at suspect Syrian site worth investigating
Traces of uranium found at a Syrian site bombed by Israel should be investigated, a diplomat said.
Vienna: Traces of uranium found at a Syrian site bombed by Israel should be investigated, a diplomat said.
Israel had bombed the site on suspicion that it was a covert nuclear reactor. Syria denies running a secret programme, saying its nuclear work is mainly for medical research.
The diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the uranium was processed and not in raw form, suggesting some kind of nuclear link.
The uranium and the other components found on the environmental swipes "tell a story" worth investigating, said the diplomat.
