Mogdishu: A Somali official says one civilian was killed when soldiers fired on a crowd after a food distribution become unruly.
Ahjmadey Mire, a police official, says people were pushing others and grabbing sacks of food during a distribution on Friday in a community in northern Mogadishu.
Mire said that soldiers began beating people in line and firing into the air, but that the melee continued and soldiers kept firing, killing one person and wounding five others.
