Gaza: Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister Nasser Al Shaer was on Saturday seized from his home in the occupied West Bank by Israeli troops on Saturday.
Al Shaer's wife Huda said that several jeeps surrounded their home in the West Bank town of Ramallah before dawn.
An Israeli army spokesman said that the troops had taken Al-Shaer into custody "due to his membership in a terrorist organisation."
Top Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, condemned the arrest.
