Israel close on Gaza decision
Israel is "very close" to a decision regarding Gaza rocket fire, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said at Sunday's cabinet meeting.
Occupied Jerusalem: Israel is “very close'' to a decision regarding Gaza rocket fire, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said at Sunday's cabinet meeting.
Olmert warned that the situation in the south could not continue as it has recently, but did not reveal details of how Israel planned on dealing with the Gaza rocket attacks.
He added that months of fighting in the Gaza Strip is coming to a "crossroads."
These remarks come as Hamas announced plans that it will send a delegation to Egypt on Monday for talks on a possible truce.
Egypt has been mediating talks because Israel has refused direct interaction with Hamas.
Hamas has demanded Israel remove Gaza's blockade and reopen border crossings in exchange for an end to rocket attacks.
Israel wants a halt to both rocket firings and arms smuggling from Egypt's Sinai peninsula.
