Occupied West Bank: Palestinian forces loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas have arrested a senior Islamic Jihad leader in the occupied West Bank, an official in the militant group said on Monday.
Abdul Fatah Khuzaimiah, a commander in the Jenin area in the northern West Bank, is the most senior fighter taken into custody since hundreds of security men loyal to Abbas deployed in the city two weeks ago in a US-supported security push.
Khuzaimiah was arrested on Sunday, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
