Cairo: Egypt began allowing injured Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to cross into Egyptian territory for medical care on Sunday, Egyptian security sources said.
Palestinians wounded in Israel's offensive will be allowed to cross over through Gaza's closed southern border.
Four civilians were already allowed to move into Egypt on Sunday, according to Egyptian security sources at the Rafah border crossing.
Twenty ambulances are waiting at the border to take more wounded.
The sources added that no limit has been set as to how many injured Palestinians will be allowed to cross over. At least a 100 are expected by hospitals in northern Sinai, which have been placed on high alert. Some wounded may even be taken to Cairo.
