A 'barbaric' act
Renowned UAE national lawyer Dr Mohammad Al Rokn, former deputy chairman of the first UAE Human Rights Organisation, said what is happening now in Palestine is unprecedented in modern history.
He described the humanitarian crisis as "barbaric" and "a clear violation of basic human rights that are guaranteed by international covenants".
"Those who are behind the siege should be brought before the international court of justice," Dr Al Rokn stressed.
He sad it is "a holocaust in progress" to besiege over three million human beings and deny them much needed access to international aid.
Dr Al Rokn invited Arab and Muslim countries to act immediately and send out medical and humanitarian assistance through diplomatic channels or international humanitarian organisations. "Plus, they have to involve the UN through the General Assembly to bring the Palestinian suffering to the attention of the whole world."
