Rabat: State news agency said police have seized more than 10 tonnes of drugs during raids in the north of the country and along its coasts.
The MAP news agency said police caught two speedboats loaded with 7.7 tonnes of hashish as they were about to leave Larache to cross the Straits of Gibraltar toward Spain.
Police raided a nearby house and found three tonnes of cannabis leaves.
Monday's report does not give an estimated street value for the drugs, seized on Saturday, but said they were destroyed on the spot.
Morocco is believed to be one of the world's largest producers of hashish.
