Gaddafi's youngest son faces legal action

French prosecutors will take legal action against the youngest son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi for his allegedly violent rampage at a Paris hotel, judicial officials said on Monday.
Hannibal Gaddafi faces a criminal court summons for allegedly striking his pregnant companion during a stay at a hotel near Paris's gilded opera house earlier this month, the officials said.
Hannibal, 28, faces charges of "voluntary violence on a vulnerable person" and unauthorised possession of a pistol, the officials said on customary condition of anonymity.
On the evening of February 1, Hannibal allegedly wielded - but did not shoot - an automatic pistol at the Grand Hotel Intercontinental near the Opera Garnier, police said.
Security agents directed him to his hotel room, which he then damaged, officials said. His companion was hospitalised temporarily at the American Hospital west of Paris.
