Beirut : Lebanese security officials say a total of six hand grenade attacks took place overnight in the Muslim sector of Beirut, damaging 14 cars and several shops but causing no casualties.
They say the attacks by the unidentified assailants took place over a three-hour period starting around 2am on Monday in Beirut's Corniche Mazra'a district.
The area recently has become something of a demarcation line between Hezbollah's Shiite supporters and their Sunni opponents.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to speak to the media.
