Beirut: Palestinian and Lebanese security officials said one person was killed and four wounded in an explosion at a Palestinian refugee camp in south Lebanon.
The officials said the explosion occurred last afternoon close to Al Noor Mosque in the Ein Al Hilweh refugee camp on the outskirts of the southern city of Sidon.
They were speaking on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to speak to the media.
Ein Al Hilweh has in recent weeks witnessed a spate of killings amid clashes between members of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah group and fighters from Jund Al Sham, a group allied to the Al Qaida.
