Senior Turkish envoy arrives in Baghdad to hold talks

A senior Turkish envoy arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday to meet with Iraqi officials to discuss the current situation involving Turkey's incursion into northern Iraq, an Iraqi government source said.

Baghdad: A senior Turkish envoy arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday to meet with Iraqi officials to discuss the current situation involving Turkey's incursion into northern Iraq, an Iraqi government source said.

Chief foreign policy adviser, Ahmet Davutoglu, was due to meet Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari, a Kurd.

On Tuesday, Iraq condemned the incursion as a violation of its sovereignty and called for the immediate withdrawal of Turkish troops.
