Scores killed in four-day Basra fighting
At least 120 "enemy fighters" have been killed in the four-day clashes between the military and Shiite militias in Basra, an Iraqi commander said on Friday.

Baghdad: At least 120 “enemy fighters'' have been killed in the four-day clashes between the military and Shiite militias in Basra, an Iraqi commander said on Friday.
"So far the sighted casualties are 120 killed from the enemy and 450 wounded," said Major-General Ali Zaidan, commander of Iraqi ground forces.
In Nassiriya, Mehdi Army rebels seized Nassiriya city in the Dhi Qar province as lawmakers prepared to hold an emergency session over the continuing violence.
