A roadside bomb explosion has killed a British soldier on patrol near the southern Iraqi city of Basra, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday.
London: A roadside bomb explosion has killed a British soldier on patrol near the southern Iraqi city of Basra, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday.
The ministry said that the soldier was airlifted to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries. No other people were injured in Thursday's incident.
His death brings to 127 the number of British soldiers killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in 2003.
