Iraqi army seizes weapons during raid on mosque
A large cache of weapons and bombs have been seized during a raid in Iraq's Sadr City, the US military said on Sunday.
Baghdad: A large cache of weapons and bombs have been seized during a raid in Iraq's Sadr City, the US military said on Sunday.
The military said that Iraqi trooops seized 360 assault rifles, sniper rifles, guns, anti-tank mines, flak vests, 100 rocket-propelled grenades and multiple grenade launchers from a mosque.
The military said that other weapons were found in a local hospital near the mosque.
The military added that a total of 38 caches of weapons have been confiscated after a sweep of Baghdad's Shiite areas.
The army also detained more than 400 people for questioning over the weekend.
