Rice tells Iran to 'make the right choice' over nuclear programme
US Secetary of State Condoleezza Rice has warned Iran that it faces 'consequences' if it does not 'make the right choice' over its nuclear programme.
Washington: US Secetary of State Condoleezza Rice has warned Iran that it faces ‘consequences' if it does not ‘make the right choice' over its nuclear programme.
Rice did not expand further on the statement but it is thought the US could push for further sanctions against Iran if a new compromise offer is not accepted.
Iran has already been subject to three rounds of UN sanctions over its refusal to give up uranium enrichment.
EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana is about to present a package of revised incentives to Tehran in a bid to get it to change its mind about the programme, which it says is for peaceful uses only.
Speaking at the same press conference, British Foreign Secretary David Miliand said: "The offer will make clear that there are substantial benefits for the Iranian people from an Iran which fulfills its responsibilities to the international community.''
