Moscow: The construction of Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant will be delayed following Iran's late payments, a source in Russia's nuclear agency said on Monday.
The source said that Iran had not paid for more than a month and that it was "obvious that the timetable on building the plant will need to be corrected".
The Russian revelation runs in contrast with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's recent remarks that Iran is going to forge ahead with its nuclear programme.
Ahmadinejad had said suspension of Iran's nuclear work would be "humiliation".
He also announced earlier this month that Iran plans to install thousands of centrifuges and start "industrial-scale" enrichment.
