Berlin: The German government wants tougher sanctions imposed on Iran, the magazine Der Spiegel reported on Saturday.
According to the report, Germany wants banking, insurance and energy companies to break ties with Iran to persuade it to stop nuclear development.
Representatives from German ministries have met to draw up a plan, according to Der Spiegel.
A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry would not comment on the report.
