"Magnitude 5.6 quake rocks Dargahan area in south Iran," the English-satellite television station said in a scrolling headline, without specifying the time it struck.
Iran is criss-crossed by faultlines and often experiences earthquakes.
Tremors felt in UAE
Many residents in Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah reported tremors in the evening at around 5.45pm.
