Ramallah: A doctor and nurse from the Abu Al Hassan Al Qasem Public Hospital in the town of Yata, south of Hebron, were hospitalised on Sunday after being attacked by three Palestinians.
Its not the first time doctors and nurses have been targeted, as attackers often accuse them of being slow in providing treatment for patients, often resulting in deaths.
Sources told Gulf News, three relatives attacked the doctor, Mohammad Abu Sharq, and nurse, Ja’afar Khalaylah, with sticks and batons. They sustained serious injuries which required hospitalisation.
The attacks have deterred many doctors from accepting to work in Emergency Room units.
