Victims of Yemenia plane crash to get compensation
A total of 3,060,000 Euros (Dh15,828,259) will be given as compensation to the families of the victims of the Yemenia plane crash, a Yemenia board chairman said on Wednesday.

Sana'a: A total of 3,060,000 Euros (Dh15,828,259) will be given as compensation to the families of the victims of the Yemenia plane crash, a Yemenia board chairman said on Wednesday.
Each family will be given 20,000 Euros (Dh103,452) as instalment, Abdul Khaleq Al Qadi told a press conference at Sana'a International Airport on Wednesday.
Al Qadi said the French Minister of Information will arrive in Moroni on Wednesday to find out developments in the search and rescue operation.
The black box of crashed Airbus 300-310 has been located and rescuers were working to get it, the official said.
Al Qadi also added that the black box will be transferred to France where the data and details of the accident will be read.
Two US planes and two French ships arrived in Comoros on Wednesday to participate in searching for the bodies of the victims, the official added.
Al Qadi repeatedly said the accident had nothing to do with maintenance of the plane, which was made in 1990. The plane passed a safety inspection less than two months ago.
On his part, Mohammed Abdul Rahman, spokesman for the Yemenia and deputy of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said the survivor was a 14-year-old girl and not a 5-year-old child as he said on Tuesday.

Experts state that passengers are safest seated behind wings, i.e. chances of their survival are 69% when compared to people in first/buisness class were survival rate is 49%. So in real sense people end up paying 3 times more for a buisness class and are 20% more, prone to fatalities then their co-passengers seated behind. I dread flying and whenever i land safely,I thank GOD.
