Winter chill set to reach UAE shores today
Day-time temperatures will drop to 22 degrees Celsius. "It will now feel like winter," said the duty forecaster.

- Some of the early church-goers on their way to Friday morning mass saw the spectacular special effects of the lightning and thunder which started around 6am yesterday. But the rain was not as heavy with Sharjah Airport recording 0.9mm of rain. The day-time temperature will be cool at 22 degree Celsius today.
Dubai: It will be very cool and windy this morning and the seas will be rough, according to the Dubai Met Office.
Day-time temperatures will drop to 22 degrees Celsius. "It will now feel like winter," said the duty forecaster.
Winds will pick up today and reach more than 50km/h over the ocean.
A marine warning has been issued and the seas will be out of bounds for sailors and fishermen until Tuesday, according to the forecaster. Waves up to ten feet are expected offshore.
The low pressure system in the higher atmosphere over Bahrain and the east of Saudi Arabia has moved over the emirates early on Friday, causing rain in Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain.
The Sharjah Airport recorded 0.9 mm of rain yesterday. The rain barely reached Dubai, but there was lightning and thunder for a couple of hours from early Friday morning.
