Light showers expected in northern areas

The weather in the northern and eastern parts of the UAE is expected to be cloudy Wednesday with light showers forecast in the northern regions

  • A street in Fujairah after rain on Sunday. Some 6.8mm of rain was reported in Dhudna and a light drizzle in parts of Dibba and Fujairah. The weather in the area will continue to be partly cloudy in general in the next 48 hours. The weather in the northern and eastern parts of the UAE is expected to be cloudy Wednesday, February 22, 2012, with light showers forecast in the northern regions

Al Ain: The weather in the northern and eastern parts of the UAE is expected to be cloudy Wednesday with light showers forecast in the northern regions.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) also forecast that wind speed would start returning to normal Wednesday.

Wind speeds reached up to 72km/h in some coastal areas and in the Gulf yesterday. Cold winds also caused a drop in temperature.

The lowest temperatures recorded yesterday morning were 4.7 degrees Celsius in Jebel Mebreh, 5.6C in Jebel Jais, 5.7C in Raknah, 6.3C in Damsa, and 6.8C in Jebel Hafeet.
