Al Ain: Heavy fog lowered visibility levels on Wednesday, restricting people in traffic snarls during the  morning rush hours in cities across the emirates.

Weather forecasters said that more fog is expected in the next several days.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said that the weather will become fair in general on Wednesday.

Temperature will be mild during the daytime, hitting a maximum of 25 degrees Celsius and dropping to 5 degrees Celsius at night in most inland areas.

Fog started to spread on Tuesday night as people started warning fellow drivers on social media at around 10:30pm.

Motorists on Al Ain-Abu Dhabi Road, Abu Dhabi-Dubai Road, Dubai’s Outer Bypass Road faced dense fog patches. Thick fog was also reported from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Khalifa City, and Liwa.

The NCMS reported a drop in visibility at different airports at around 3am. Visibility was just 50 metres at the Abu Dhabi airport, 100 metres at Jebel Ali airport, 300 metres at Al Bateen airport, and 600 metres at Dubai airport.
