Al Ain: A fog alert has been issued by the national weather bureau, asking motorists to be careful in the coastal areas, especially in the western region, late on Monday and early in the morning.

This could happen due to high level of humidity that might be more than 95 per cent in some areas. Relative humidity is likely to be 100 per cent in Madinat Zayed and in some of the UAE islands in the Arabian Gulf.

The country, meanwhile, continues to sizzle as the mercury has again gone up by a few degrees. Daytime temperature is unbearably harsh particularly in the south of the country. Yesterday, the temperature recorded in Umm Azimul — a town located close to the Saudi Arabian border in Al Ain — was 48.3 degree Celsius. Al Ain was not far behind with a maximum of 47.6 Celsius.

Temperatures recorded in other places were 42.6 at Dubai airport, 44.7 at Sharjah airport, 44.6 at Ras Al Khaimah airport, and 39.6 in Abu Dhabi.
