Officials raid houses in Deira and arrest 66 illegal residents

Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department official raided three houses in Deira and arrested 66 illegals.

Dubai: Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) official raided three houses in Deira and arrested 66 illegals.

DNRD's Investigative Department raided the houses after midnight following a tip-off.

Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director of DNRD, said the arrested illegals were mostly of Asian origin.

Major Talal Al Shanqiti, Acting Assistant Director of Investigation Affairs at DNRD, said 42 of the 66 arrested illegals were absconding from their sponsors and they were all transferred to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
