Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) arrested a total of 1,614 illegal residents, including 630 people who sneaked into the country, in the last four months.
Dubai: Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) arrested a total of 1,614 illegal residents, including 630 people who sneaked into the country, in the last four months.
Brigadier Obaid Mohair Bin Suroor, Acting Director of DNRD, said a mechanism has been evolved to conduct inspectional raids on firms to comb out illegal immigrants in the emirate. He said companies employing illegal workers will be penalised as per the existing rules.
The present rules stipulate imprisonment up to two months and a penalty of Dh100,000 to those who give refuge or employ people who illegally sneak into the country.
