Youth dies in high-speed accident
A teenager was killed in an accident on Wednesday night in Khor Fakkan while speeding on an empty highway.
Sharjah: A teenager was killed in an accident on Wednesday night in Khor Fakkan while speeding on an empty highway.
Sharjah police said the 19-year-old UAE national lost control of his vehicle while driving recklessly and met with an accident near the Oceanic Hotel in Khor Fakkan.
Police said the teenager was seriously injured in the accident and was immediately shifted to the Khor Fakkan hospital. However, he died due to loss of blood, they added.
In another accident one motorist was injured when his vehicle was involved in a three-car collision on Al Wahda Road at Al Hebal Roundabout.
An Iranian woman was driving when her front tyre burst, causing her to collide into the concrete barrier. The collision forced her vehicle to bounce back 25 metres into oncoming traffic, causing two more vehicles to collide with each other. The woman dislocated her shoulder and was taken to Kuwaiti Hospital.
Police have warned motorists to regularly check their tyres and to take precautions while driving, and urged the youth not to drive recklessly.
