UAE-Beirut flights still suspended due to unrest

All flights between the UAE and Beirut remain suspended due to ongoing unrest in the Lebanese capital.

Dubai: All flights between the UAE and Beirut remain suspended due to ongoing unrest in the Lebanese capital.

Officials from Emirates, Etihad Airways and Air Arabia - based in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah respectively, are monitoring the situation closely.

Beirut's Rafik Hariri airport remains closed amid intensified clashes between Hezbollah fighters and pro-government supporters.

A spokesperson for Emirates said: "Because of the ongoing situation in Lebanon, Emirates' flights between Dubai and Beirut remain suspended. The situation is being monitored closely.

Leo Seaton, Head of Media Relations at Etihad Airways, confirmed all flights to Beirut from Abu Dhabi were cancelled until further notice.

Housam Raydan, Corporate Communications Manager for Air Arabia, said: "Beirut airport remains closed to all air travel."
