Dubai: Commuters from Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other Northern Emirates can access the Dubai Metro at different stations without any hassle.

The most convenient station for commuters coming from Abu Dhabi is Nakheel Harbour and Tower station which has a dedicated parking lot for Metro users.

Commuters can park their cars at this station free of cost and use the Metro to continue their journey to the city, avoiding traffic congestion and Salik toll gates. A parking building has been built next to the station with 3,000 spaces.

The parking lot will also serve Metro users from Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Discovery Gardens and other new localities.

Commuters coming from Sharjah, Ajman and other Northern Emirates can drive straight to Al Rashidiya Station parking lot, park their cars and ride the Metro. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has built bridges and ramps giving motorists a direct link from Emirates Road.

Al Rashidiya Station has a parking lot for 2,700 cars and it is also free for Metro users. Riding the Metro will be even more convenient for Sharjah commuters when the Green line starts in June next year. There will be a parking lot at the etisalat Metro station in Al Qusais which can hold 3,000 cars.

Only Metro ticket holders will be able to use the special parking areas at the three stations.

For commuters who want to travel by public bus between Sharjah and Dubai, Union Square Metro Station will be the best option to ride the Metro.

A number of bus routes link Sharjah, Ajman and Dubai.

Passengers coming from Sharjah can use Deira City Centre and Al Rigga stations.
