Salik users advised to follow procedures
The RTA has advised motorists to carefully follow subscription procedures for the Salik toll system.
Dubai: The RTA has advised motorists to carefully follow subscription procedures for the Salik toll system.
Maitha Obaid Bin Udai, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Roads and Traffic Agency at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said that 95 per cent of Salik subscriptions are being implemented seamlessly
"Problems in the subscription have mainly been because the procedures given on the back of the subscription form were not followed precisely," she added.
She said Salik users should report any damage to the Salik chips, caused through accidents or mishandling.
"Subscribers should report damaged Salik card chips directly to the RTA as well as reporting the loss of an account number or failure to receive credit notification or subscription confirmation," she added.
"Subscribers who cover all their vehicles with one account will automatically receive distributed credit among the cars in proportion to their use of the Salik gates. This is the reason why some subscribers receive SMS notifications even though they do not cross the toll gate more than once.
"The message received is regarding the use of another car under the same account," she said.
