Dubai: With 11 more safe drivers on Dubai roads being awarded on day two of the Caltex RoadStar Contest, the first of two for the year organised by the Emirates Motor Sports Federation (EMSF), the campaign moves for the first time to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
With the focus now shifting to the capital Abu Dhabi Police are looking forward to being part of the campaign. Abu Dhabi Police, while pledging their unreserved co-operation, noted that RoadStar would compliment other road safety campaigns that they conduct regularly in an attempt to bring down the number of accidents and resultant injuries and fatalities.
The contest is in its 11th year and has invested over Dh2 million so far in a campaign aimed at promoting safe driving where drivers who observe basic principles of good driving come under the organisers' scanner during the campaign.
Safe drivers are rewarded with Dh750 in cash on the spot, gifts and a certificate endorsed by the police. While Caltex is the main sponsor, Lexus (Al Futtaim Motors), AXA Insurance and the International Automobile Touring Club are co-sponsors with Gulf News, Wheels and Radio 2.
