Abu Dhabi: The Traffic and Patrolling Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police on Thursday announced the revised Ramadan timings for peak hours ban of trucks and heavy vehicles within the city limit.

As per the changes, effective from the first day of Ramadan, during peak hours trucks with a load of 2.5 tonnes and above will be banned from entering the city. Those vehicles headed to or coming from Zayed Port will be exempted from the rule. However, these vehicles will have to use the Mantua Bridge to Salam Street (Eastern Ring Road) or vice versa during peak hours.

The police urged drivers to adhere to the time limits in order to ensure the safety of the public and to ease the traffic flow. Peak hours are 7 am to 9 am and 1 pm to 3 pm.
