No adverse effect on environment
The Dubai Creek extension will not have a negative impact on the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary, located at the head of the existing creek, says the project consultant.

Dubai: The Dubai Creek extension will not have a negative impact on the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary, located at the head of the existing creek, said Mohammad Abdullah Al Dabal, Dubai Creek extension Project Consultant.
Al Dabal said the environment protection is an integral part of the Business Bay development plan.
"We have already done a comprehensive environment impact assessment study," he said. "We will have a 500 metre wide and 2.4-km long buffer zone between the Dubai Creek extension and the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary."
In fact, according to Al Dabal the wetlands will be extended to expand the wildlife sanctuary.
More mangroves will be planted in the sanctuary in addition to further green areas planted along the creek.
According to Al Dabal, a strict set of guidelines regarding the protection of the environment have been tabled for Business Bay tenants and there will be no drainage of sewage water in the creek.
"We will not allow any kind of industrial activity along the creek and no ship or boat repair yards or even boat painting will be allowed in the marinas on the creek," Al Dabal said.
Around 200,000 people are expected to live in 240 towers in the Business Bay by 2015.
