New bus route launched in Sharjah
Service links Al Dhaid, Al Maleha, Al Madaam

Sharjah: A new bus service connecting the Al Dhaid, Al Maleha and Al Madaam areas will start running Sunday.
"The bus line [route 120] that connects the three cities is among the few services that were recently launched in the central region, [including] the introduction of a new fleet of taxis, in order to increase the number of passengers who use public transport," said Adel Khalil Al Hosani, Director of Inter-city Transport, Sharjah Transport.
"We are also considering launching other similar bus lines soon, where passengers can travel from the Eastern Region to the city of Sharjah while making a stop-over at Al Dhaid."
Passage rate from Al Dhaid to Al Madaam is Dh15 while from Al Dhaid to Al Maleha it is Dh10.
Where it goes
Bus route 120 has a total of 13 stops and sets off from the city of Al Dhaid, where the bus stops are located at Al Falaj roundabout, Al Dhaid Mosque, Traffic Police Roundabout, and in the industrial area.
The bus route then continues on to the city of Al Maleha, where it stops at Al Maleha Municipality, Al Maleha Mosque, Zulal Factory, Al Thamid Roundabout and Madinat Restaurant.
The final leg of the bus route starts at Al Madaam, then the bus stops next at Al Madaam Municipality, Abu Dhabi Bank and then finally at a stop near the district of commercial shops.
"The bus service begins daily from 5am until 11pm, and has an average of 12 trips per day with an interval time of 120 minutes. However, the number of trips will be increased during the weekend," said Yousuf Sulaiman Al Hammadi, Director of Central and Eastern Region Department, Sharjah Transport.
