Many road construction projects in Dubai completed
The Roads and Transport Authority has completed a number of road construction projects.
Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority has completed a number of road construction projects.
The Suffouh Road improvement project has reached 80 per cent, including road improvements and a link-up with the R3 bridge crossing the Dubai Marina Canal. This links with the R5 bridge linking Jumeirah Beach Residence with Dubai Marina.
Roads and pavements in Jumeirah 2 have been completed at a cost of Dh75 million, including three internal roads, public parking, changing Aroobah Road to two-way and pedestrian crossing. Signals at the Aroobah Road/Al Wasl Road intersection have also been erected.
A total of 58Km of road in the Al Barsha south area has been constructed, along with a four-light signal-controlled intersection.
In Al Qusais 1 and 2, new roads, six roundabouts, car parking, improvement of the existing roads and intersections has been completed at a cost of Dh43 million.
Road construction in Muhaishah 3 and Muhaisnah 4 has reached 95 per cent completion at a cost of around Dh74 million, including 17Km of internal roads and car parking. Halab Road has been made two-way.
In Muhaisnah 1 and Mizher 1, competion of road projects has reached 77 per cent, costing Dh160 million. This includes maintaining and constructing secondary arterial roads extending 7Km and collector roads extending 8Km, along with local roads extending 46Km in addition to roadside parking.
The Oud Mateena 2 road improvement project has reached 78 per cent completion, at a cost of Dh50 million. This comprises construction of 3.5Km internal roads and upgrading of Amman and Khartoum roads by adding new lanes, which extend 5Km. Khartoum road is being widened to four lanes in each direction and Amman Road leading to Oud Mateena is being widened to two lanes in each direction.
The RTA has also awarded a contract for constructing internal roads at Nad Al Sheba 2, costing Dh86 million. This includes the construction of two-way roads extending 5Km, 14Km road, five circular intersections, 2Km lane and a 5Km bicycle track.
A contact for upgrading at Al Nahdeh 2 was also awarded recently at a cost of Dh118 million and the completion rate has reached 30 per cent.
