Dubai: Damas Jewellery will reward motorists who do not commit any traffic offences or accidents for three consecutive years.
Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police, welcomed Damas's suggestion to reward safe motorists with cash prizes and valuable awards in coordination with the Police Traffic Department.
He said the contribution of various government and private companies is important to make a success of the campaign which was launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in October.
Brigadier Eisa Aman, Deputy Director of the Traffic Department, held a meeting with representatives of Damas Jewellery to discuss the procedures of implementing the suggestion, specifying the missions of every team and the system of choosing the motorists who deserve the rewards.
Security workshop
The Police Airport Security Department meanwhile completed a workshop on security inspections and dealing with people with special needs.
Brigadier Pilot Ahmad Bin Thani, director of the department, pointed out the importance of dealing with people with special needs, the elderly and people with chronic diseases, as a successful employee can fulfill the needs of all customers.
He praised the role of the Dubai Education Zone for being the patron of the workshop, the first of its kind in the Middle East.
Major Dr Mohammad Bin Da'afoos, Director of the Civil Aviation Security Centre, said the workshop stressed dealing with special groups of society, not only the physically disabled people, but also the blind, deaf and dumb.
