Five Emiratis died in road accident
Five Emiratis died on Friday evening in a tragic road accident in Tarif area of the West Region in Abu Dhabi after one of the tyred of their Land Cruiser exploded and the vehicle overturned more than ten times.
Ras Al Khaimah: Five Emiratis died on Friday evening in a tragic road accident in Tarif area of the Western Region in Abu Dhabi after one of the tyres of their Land Cruiser burst and the vehicle overturned more than ten times.
Police sources confirmed the incident. The relatives of the victims said that none of the young Emiratis in the vehicle survived the accident.
Police said, two brothers, Ali Mohammad Saeed Al Shehi and Ahmad Mohammad Saeed Al Shehi, as well as Mohammad Ahmad Hamdan Al Shehi, Marzouq Mohammad and Abdullah Hamdan Al Shehi, all between 20 and 23 years old, died in the accident.
The victims were on their way home from their summer vacation in Syria.
The victims suffered very serious injuries and fractures in different parts of their bodies.
Four of the victims died on the scene and the fifth was announced dead on arrival at Al Marfa'a Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
Three of the victims were from Dibba and two from Ras Al Khaimah and their dead bodies were referred to the hospital before they were handed over on Saturday to their families in Ras Al Khaimah and Dibba for burial.
The tragic accident left the bodies of the victims spread hundreds of meters from the scene.
Once the accident took place, police vehicles and ambulances rushed to the scene and handled the situation.
Thousands of people participated in their funeral where they were laid to rest in Al Ghob Cemetery in Ras Al Khaimah.
Police vehicles got involved to facilitate the traffic flow to the cemetery which was overcrowded with thousands of vehicles which came from across the UAE to participate in the funeral.
The sources said that the Emiratis in Ras Al Khaimah have all been sad for their loss. One of the victims, Ali was about to tie the knot and scheduled to have his wedding party on Monday July 27th.
