Dubai: Gulf News learnt that a tyre of freight carrier Cathay Pacific burst while landing at Dubai International airport early on Monday morning.
James Evans, country manager of the airline for the UAE and Oman, said that a Cathay Pacific CX 014 a freight carrier coming from Frankfurt had a tyre burst.
"A tyre burst is something that happens all the time taking into consideration the grand scheme of things. We got clearance from the civil aviation to fly at 6pm," he said.
The incident occurred before the Biman Bangladesh aircraft skidded off the runway.
However, a senior official at Dubai Civil Aviation denied the report, describing it as baseless.
