Another bus route between Dubai and Sharjah starts today

A new bus route between Dubai and Sharjah (E311) will start today to cater to the increasing number of commuters between the two emirates, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Friday.

Dubai: A new bus route between Dubai and Sharjah (E311) will start today to cater to the increasing number of commuters between the two emirates, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Friday.

The route has 10 buses, including four double-decker buses for the service between Al Qusais Station at Dubai and Al Jubail Station at Sharjah.

"The 10 buses operating on this route include four buses with a capacity of 41 passengers, and two buses with a capacity of 28 passengers. These buses will shuttle in a route starting from Al Qusais Station, passing along Beirut Road, entering Sharjah through Al Ta'awun Bridge and from there to Al Jubail Station. The same route will be used in the trip back to Dubai," said Eisa Abdul Rahman Al Dosari, CEO of RTA's Public Transport Agency.

These buses will start off at Al Qusais Station to Al Jubail Station at 4 pm and the service will continue to 11.30 pm, from Saturday to Thursday. On Fridays and official holidays, buses will be operated from 7 am up to 11.30 pm, with a 20 minutes interval.

Al Dosari said: "We are looking forward for a clear improvement on the quality of service on Dubai - Sharjah route, following the introduction of these buses."
