Dubai: Eleven people were injured in two separate accidents yesterday morning in Dubai.
Police said the first accident took place at around 6am on a crossing between Beirut and Halab roads when a speeding car allegedly jumped a red light and crashed into a pick-up.
Five people in the pick-up were injured, two of them seriously. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries, a traffic police spokesman said.
The seriously injured were airlifted for medical treatment by the Dubai Police air wing rescue unit.
The second accident occurred at around 8am when a driver allegedly lost control of his minibus, swerved and hit a truck. The crash took place on Emirates Road, past Al Rashidiya Bridge. Two people were severely injured and three were moderately injured, he said.
