Ajman: Marking the launch of its new cultural identity, Ajman pledged to emphasise on strengthening cultural and art activities in the emirate and to reinforce the UAE's image internally and abroad.
Ajman Department of Culture and Information (ADCI) will be the custodian of the new corporate identity released recently by Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Head of the Executive Council, at a ceremony held at the Kempenski Hotel in Ajman.
Shaikh Ammar said he was impressed with the Ajman's new identity aimed at developing culture, heritage and tourism activities in the emirate.
He added that the ADCI would organise a series of activities and annual programmes in line with the new corporate vision and objectives of the emirate and that this would require every citizen and official in Ajman to support the cause.
Shaikh Ammar pledged that Ajman would spare no efforts in highlighting the UAE's heritage and customs through a variety of programmes and activities while looking toward the development of modern art and culture.
Not a fresh start
He added that Ajman's new corporate identity was not starting from zero and that it complemented the efforts by other emirates and federal institutions to enhance cultural and art activities in the UAE.
In his speech, Shaikh Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the ADCI, said that the new corporate identity was being tailored in accordance with the vision of Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman.
He added that the new corporate identity had never been absent and that the development of an identity and vision was the result of a series of studies conducted by world-class consultants.
This was necessary, he said, to develop while keeping ADCI's interests and aspirations in mind, as per international standards.
Shaikh Abdul Aziz added that when ADCI started work on its corporate identity, there was a genuine keenness for a product that would highlight ADCI's aspiration for excellence and innovation, while encouraging talent.
"The new corporate identity gives equal importance to building a society which is open to other cultures, while creating a quality image about ADCI with its stakeholders, partners and the Ajman community," he said.
In light of the new corporate identity, the next stage would involve focusing on the local arena, in addition to developing links with Arab and international organisers for cultural and art activities.
Special interest
There will be a special interest in tourism development in Ajman, as well as in promoting heritage to further promote national identity.
Shaikh Abdul Aziz urged local tourism institutions to support the ADCI's efforts through their promotion programmes, adding that Ajman needed the sincere efforts of the qualified local tourism guides to promote its culture, traditions and heritage to people visiting Ajman.
