Sultan Bin Saqr laid to rest
Emiri Court of Ras Al Khaimah has announced seven-day mourning in the emirate
Ras Al Khaimah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, offered funeral prayers on Friday for the late Shaikh Sultan Bin Saqr Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi at the Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah.
Joining in the prayers were Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Shaikh Rashid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, other shaikhs, senior officials and worshippers.
The late Shaikh Sultan was laid to rest at Al Qawasim cemetery in the Al Iraibi area. The Emiri Court of Ras Al Khaimah has announced a seven-day mourning period in the emirate.
Local government departments and institutions in the emirate are observing a three-day holiday.
Khalifa receives condolences
President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received on Friday a cable of condolences from Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, on the death of Shaikh Sultan Bin Saqr Al Qasimi.
Shaikh Khalifa got similar cables from Kuwaiti Crown Prince Shaikh Nawaf Al Sabah and Prime Minister Shaikh Nasser Al Sabah.
