Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, hailed the overwhelming turn out in the Al Dhafra Camel beauty contest.
Touring the festival site, Shaikh Mohammad said that UAE, under the leadership of President His Hihgness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on perpetuating heritage and cultural festivals as a message to the present and future generations for safeguarding the country's traditions and heritage.
Shaikh Mohammad also said that the preservation of the heritage and passing it over to the coming generations is the way to protect the national identity and the bond between the past and the present, especially at a time of cultural openness. This policy was initiated by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, he said.
