Mohammad stresses on training to prepare young Arab journalists

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday visited Al Arabiya TV station in the Dubai Media City.

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday visited Al Arabiya TV station in the Dubai Media City.

Shaikh Mohammad was received by Shaikh Walid Al Ebrahim, Chairman of MBC group, and its staff, and congratulated them on the fifth anniversary of its establishment.

Shaikh Mohammad toured the new news centre and its different news sections, where he acquainted himself with the centre's various equipment, including cameras and transmitting devices.

He praised the channel's level and stressed the ability of Arab media professionals to compete internationally, especially if they have the will, determination and vision.

Shaikh Mohammad watched a trial news bulletin and praised Al Arabiya's competence on the global media stage.

Role of media

He urged Arab media leaders to well prepare and qualify new generations of Arab media persons who will be able to cope with development and convey the message with transparency and credibility.

Shaikh Mohammad also stressed on the need to focus on training to prepare professional Arab mediamen who can help shape a public opinion that supports the just issues of the Arab nation and the views of Arabs on the issues of peace, co-existence, dialogue and justice.

He highlighted the significant role of media in the development and the building of a healthy Arab society.

He exchanged talks with the channel's reporters and correspondents and urged them to be excellent, realistic and neutral in conveying the news to the public without distortion or exaggeration.

Shaikh Al Ebrahim expressed his joy over Shaikh Mohammad's visit which he said will be a motivation for all the staff at the channel to continue their march towards progress and excellence.

He thanked Shaikh Mohammad for the establishment of the Dubai Media City, which became the home of many Arab channels and media professionals who look for the freedom of expression and the best for the Arab media.
