Dubai Dubai Press Club and Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Youth Media Awards have signed a memorandum of understanding for partnership to support the professional growth of the winners in the award's various categories.

Khadeeja Al Marzouqi, head of the organising committee at Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Youth Media Awards, and Mariam Bin Fahd, Executive Director at Dubai Press Club, have signed the memorandum on behalf of their respective organisations.

The partnership between the two organisations comes as part of the commitment on the part of both to help young media persons in the country to enhance their professional skills through a series of training programmes and seminars conducted by top experts from different fields.

The training programmes, to be held at Dubai Press Club, will target the winners of the award in the past two editions in all the different categories.

The total number of participants will not exceed 20 with a view to ensuring the efficacy of the programme.

Interaction

The programmes will also include opportunities for participants to interact with prominent media persons on a wide variety of subjects.

The topics of the training programmes and workshops will cover subjects ranging from writing opinion pieces, the fundamentals of investigative reporting, cartoons, presentation of radio programmes, graphic designing, documentary film making and photography.

Participants in each category will attend training sessions of two days. The details of the programme, slated to take place in the first quarter of next year and to last four months in total, will be unveiled later.
