Connecting with my mother
As children we were taught to read the newspaper regularly, as part of our daily routine. Gulf News keeps me updated. It helps me in my daily activities, be it for work or just talking to friends.
I started reading Gulf News six years ago, precisely three days after I arrived from the Philippines. I remember it clearly because the 9/11 attack took place at that time.
My mother also reads it online. The newspaper helps connect my mother and I, as it keeps her informed what's happening around me in Dubai.

No more bees?
During our stay in Bahrain for five years, we were reading Gulf News online. It gave us a glimpse of life in the UAE and has been a vital factor in our move to the country from Bahrain.
We thank Gulf News for the range of issues it covers and for providing a platform where readers actually get an opportunity to exchange their views. I enjoy reading Weekend Review and Friday magazine.
The topics covered really created an impact, but one that really stands out because it continues to bother me is the environment-related news report about the disappearance of honey bees from the US and Europe.

Letters and memories
For the past 15 years I have been a regular reader of Gulf News, and it has become a part of my life. Over the years we have seen many changes in Dubai and Gulf News. The newspaper has given me the space to express my views, especially in the 'Letters to Editor' or 'Your Turn' column for all these years. More than 200 of my letters were published in the newspaper over the past 15 years.
I do enjoy writing letters on subjects that range from politics to social debates. Sometimes the debates through letters get extended over days, giving better clarity to readers on the issue, along with infusing the topic with new ideas. I have never experienced any censorship from Gulf News while publishing my letters.
I have preserved few of my published letters from 1996 to 1998, which I used to mail to my family in Kerala. Now I am busier in my job and my family has also joined me in Dubai. I still enjoy reading Gulf News, especially 'Your Turn', which is my favourite.

I found my job...
The first time I set foot in Dubai was on November 16, 1992, and the first English language newspaper I read was Gulf News. It was the newspaper I found on the doorstep of my hotel room.
Gulf News has been our major source of daily events and information in the UAE for almost 15 years. As an assistant librarian at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I have trusted the wide and fair coverage of Gulf News.
The newspaper has made a big difference in my career as librarian, especially when I found an advert placed by Abu Dhabi University in it. The rest is history. I was hired and appointed as librarian of Abu Dhabi University.

Reading online
Since I left the UAE in 2000, I make sure that I read Gulf News online every day. I was so attached to the UAE, its people and the culture that I want to know the daily events in the country.

A real team
I am proud to subscribe to Gulf News, as over the past four months, the newspaper is delivered promptly at 4am. I open my front door and Gulf News is there for me to pick it up. I enjoy reading the paper.
I am happy with the newspaper and appreciate the administration, effort and teamwork needed to ensure that the newspaper reaches my doorstep at 4am. I admire it.

Flow of stories
It has just been a month since I started reading the online edition of Gulf News. The one thing that I really like about the paper is its extensive coverage.
Being a journalist myself, I really like the flow of the stories. Keep up the good work.
