Letters to the Editor

Last updated:

Over the last 30 years the method of communication has changed dramatically. In 1978 when Jimmy Carter was still president of the US and Argentina won the soccer World Cup, pen, paper and the typewriter were the chosen means of writing. Now, letters usually arrive by e-mail. This allows faster delivery, giving readers an opportunity to comment speedily, which is why letters are an integral part of the newspaper.

Great newspaper
Congratulations to Gulf News on this joyous occasion. I lived in Dubai from 1994 to 1999, and always bought Gulf News on a daily basis. Now I read it daily online. What a great newspaper!

Good presentation
I am living in Toronto, Canada, and travel to Dubai very often on business. I stay there for one or two months at a time, and I make sure I buy Gulf News daily. If I am late in reading it, I feel I am missing something and even when I am in Toronto I read it on the internet. I really like the way the news is presented and covered.

Professional approach
I left Dubai in April to settle in Toronto, but I still read Gulf News online everyday, first thing. I can say the news is up-to-date, language is not very technical and on the whole the paper is very informative. It is projected very professionally. I wish Gulf News to be a part of everyone's life.

Keeping updated
Gulf News is a part of my daily life. The moment I step into my office every morning, Gulf News is with me and my coffee. The newspaper is very informative. It keeps all nationalities posted/updated about what's happening in their countries. Keep up the good work Gulf News!

Thank you
I have a big interest in Dubai and the UAE as I think it's one of the most rapidly growing cities in the world. I visit Dubai almost every four to six months, and each time it's different and better. When I'm home I keep in touch with what's happening in the UAE by reading Gulf News online. In my opinion it's the most informative and user-friendly newspaper I have seen. I also get updated news of India, fashion, and entertainment. I love the paper. Thank you Gulf News for making the world such a small place.

Part of life
Gulf News is part of my breakfast routine. As soon as I reach the office I start reading the news first, and then I start my work. I love reading Gulf News. It is good to know what is happening around-the-world. It has improved my knowledge and I always love to give my comments on public matters and am happy to see my name in the paper. With the help of Gulf News Appointments' section, I was able to get a good job for my husband too.

Online success
I lived in Sharjah for over 20 years. I remember reading Gulf News way back in 1986, when I was around eight years old. My favourite used to be Junior News. I still read the online edition in Karachi with great interest every morning. Keep up the good work and thanks for being there!
From Mr Asif

Informative
Gulf News is the most informative, truly global newspaper I have come across. It has been a part of me for the past 25 years.
