Dubai The General Secretariat of the Arab Journalism Awards has revealed that there has been an increase in the number of entries in the award's eighth edition.
Maryam Bin Fahad, executive director of the Dubai Press Club, attributed the surge in participation to a recent promotional tour by a delegation to Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar and the UK and by other trips to Morocco, Tunisia and Bahrain.
Bin Fahad praised the special team that has been galvanised into action at the Press Club, pushing for the development priorities for the award ceremony.
The Arab Journalism Awards are worth a total of $250,000 (Dh917,500) and comprise 13 categories, including the Media Personality of the Year, which is one of the most important prizes.
