Musical element to feature in Al Ain Aerobatic show
The Aero GP, known as the Formula One of Air Racing, will have three disciplines for competing pilots this year

- The four-day show promises to offer spectacular displays of skills from an impressive line-up of the world's leading aerobatics teams.
Al Ain: Six pilots will display their skills in a newly introduced musical Aerobatics discipline at the Aero GP, a part of the upcoming Al Ain Aerobatic Show, bringing a new thrill to the race for the spectators.
With this new addition, the Aero GP, known as the Formula One of Air Racing, will have three disciplines for competing pilots this year, such as the multi-plane air racing, air combat and the new scored aerobatics disciplines, said the organisers.
Precision target aiming, a crowd favourite that was earlier a part of the Aero GP, will this year be not a part of the race and will hold as an independent demonstration.
Organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and the UAE Air Force the show will held at Al Ain International Airport from January 27 to 30.
The four-day show promises to offer spectacular displays of skills from an impressive line-up of the world's leading aerobatics teams.
Faisal Al Shaikh, manager of the Major Events Division at the ADTA's, said the addition of the musical aerobatics discipline will bring competitors a new challenge and a new thrilling dimension for the audience.
"The Aero GP is aimed at people of all ages and is intended to inspire the crowds. It will showcase the world's best piloting skills, the wonder of flight and human achievement, set against Al Ain's stunning desert," he said.
He said presently pilots' planes are being dismantled to be shipped to Abu Dhabi where they will be re-assembled, ready for the pilots to put them through their paces.
Daily tickets for the show are pegged at last year's prices - Dh40 per adult and Dh25 for children between three and 10 years. Children under the age of three get in free. Tickets can be bought via www.timeouttickets.com or from a toll free number 800 4669.
